Career changes can be scary, but coming to Fish and Associates has been a breath of fresh air! Hi, I’m Martha Shaw. For many years I taught Special Education and 2nd grade in Memphis area schools, and while it was rewarding, I wanted a new challenge. I’m thrilled with my role as Operations Manager, where I handle compliance issues, scheduling, and other general office tasks. As a Memphis native, there’s a good chance I’ll already know your name or know someone who does.
College football is a big part of my life. I graduated from Ole Miss (Hotty Toddy!) and never miss a home game. I’m a self-described overachiever who graduated with not one but two undergraduate degrees in education. I later attended evening classes at Christian Brothers University to get my Master’s degree as a reading specialist. It certainly wasn’t easy after spending all day in a classroom full of second graders, but I was determined to get it done!
In my free time, I help grant wishes to critically ill kids through the Make-A-Wish Mid-South Foundation and volunteer for the Memphis Child Advocacy Center. I also helped shape lives as a troop leader for the Girl Scouts Heart of the South.
When I get home from work, I love to do all kinds of crafts while cuddling with my Cavapoo, Rosie.
