Mahogany Person

Mahogany blends mathematical precision with financial insight in her role as a paraplanner at Fish and Associates. On a typical day, Mahogany, whose role is similar to that of a paralegal in a law firm, prepares for client meetings and conducts in-depth financial research. She’s also on track to becoming a Certified Financial Planner, hoping to complete her coursework in 2025. With an undergraduate degree in statistics and an MBA from Ohio University, Mahogany's transition from the classroom to the world of financial planning is nothing short of inspiring.

Before joining Fish and Associates, Mahogany dedicated five years to shaping young minds at the high school and middle school levels in her hometown of Dayton, Ohio. The experience was not just a job but a passion. Teaching in the same school she once attended, Dayton Early College Academy, offered a full-circle moment, allowing her to make a difference in the community close to her heart.

Mahogany's journey from education to financial planning wasn't merely a career change. It was a mission fueled by the economic challenges she witnessed within her community. As a result, Mahogany’s goal shifted towards breaking the cycle of generational financial illiteracy. It led her to the world of financial planning —  where she blends her analytical skills with her desire to enrich the lives of young professionals.

When she’s not crunching numbers, Mahogany enjoys crafting, party planning, and fashion—a nod to her initial dream of becoming a fashion designer. Her love for these creative outlets is matched only by her affection for her Yorkie-poodle mix, Deuce, who is not just a pet but a cherished family member.
